| This piece was commissioned for a
couple who were both turning sixty. The couple attended the University
of Wisconsin, which is represented by the "W" shield and Bascom
Hall. The skyline of their hometown of Chicago is shown, along with
the Chicago Bears logo. The top is the old facade of Soldier Field,
and includes symbols for the couples' careers in law and teaching. A
hamsa and Chai hang on the columns for good luck and prosperity, and the
Sheheceyanu (the hebrew prayer giving thanks for reaching a special
occassion) is written on the columns. The family tree at the bottom
includes the names of their children, grandchildren, and pets.
The design was hand drawn in ink and colored pencil, around a professionally printed
text. Design shown is 17"x22" unframed.
